About the seminar

Nic will talk about his experiences working in data-intensive research as well as an overview about what’s on the horizon for MDAP, including:

  • Pathways to interdisciplinary research
  • Computational models as tools for generating actionable insight from data
  • Examples from the COVID-19 pandemic that draw on diverse data sources and disciplinary expertise to inform Australia’s response.

About Nic

Nic Geard is currently an Associate Professor in Computing and Information Systems and has also worked previously in the School of Population and Global Health in MDHS. His research currently focusses on modelling transmission and control of infectious diseases, and so he has a strong background in the use of computing and data for cross disciplinary research.

The talk will be followed by a Q and A.
